At last temperatures under control and total silence !!!!

Hi there,

My fan arrived last week, haven’t got the time yet to mount it into the case until today!

Here you can checkout the fan, it’s a Scythe 120 mm Slip Stream Slim Case Fan (800 rpm) (SY1212SL12SL).
Cost’s around 9EUR and believe me it is completely silent.

So how do you fit a 120mm fan in a case that’s only 70mm high?

picoPSU + external adapter arrived

External power adapter ordered!

I made a crucial and again expensive decision here.

I’m going to keep my nice looking case and I’m going to trash the PSU only

So I ordered an external picoPSU with adapter (link) to power the HTPC.

This costs me 71EUR, shipping included. I hope it stops here…
But this also means we are on our way to a completely silent HTPC, way to go I say!

Dualboot

To dualboot XBMC Live + Windows 7:

• Create Windows 7 bootable installation USB with Microsofts tool
• Boot from USB and install Windows 7, leave 4GB’s for XBMC Live as unpartitioned space
• Create XBMC bootable USB with Unetbootin (instructions)
• Boot from USB and choose install
• Choose use maximum free space to install
• Voila that’s it Grub will take care of the rest
