Issues… and playback report

First the bad news:
The case is freaking me out, it makes 10 times the noise of a desktop pc.
So I’ll have to buy a new case with external adapter.
Second thing, is I have a handshaking HDMI issue with my receiver. (No video)
I’ll have to hook it straight up with the tv in combination with an optical cable.
Which I’ve done now to test video playback.
Third, my entire blu ray library is storaged on HFS+ external hard drives, XBMC Live doesn’t mount them 
This involves heavy restructuring of my setup, but I guess that’s the only option here.
Good news!
- Video playback is really good, i’ve tested a full Blu Ray ISO image with PowerDVD under Windows 7 and a full Blu Ray stream (m2ts) under XBMC Live. Both played perfectly fine. I was surprised XBMC supported PGS subtitle streams
- Temps are stable don’t go over 70° C, playing a Blu Ray under Windows 7 was around 67° C for the CPU.
Anyone knows a good case with external adapter?

Ja die heb ik ook al eens bekeken, probleem is dat bij die adapter combinaties er enkel een powerkabel bij zit. Dus geen sata power die ik wel nodig heb…
ik heb er een verloop molex naar sata bij en er zit een molex /sata kabel bij.
mijn ssd is sata en mijnblu-ray brander ook.

Dus als ik deze zou kopen zit daar een adapter bij, 24pin atx power connector voor moederbord en minstens één sata power aansluiting?
Hoe zeker ben je daarvan :p ?

Ik heb hem hier in mijn htpc zitten , het is alleen een 20pin connector.
Er zit een sata en molex connector bij , maar omdat ik 2xsata moest hebben heb ik er een verloop molex
naar 2xsata bij.
Dus nu 3 x sata.
Bel de shop maar dan weet je het zeker.

Dus van van die 24pin connector is er een aftapping naar een molex connector en dan hebben ze er een molex->sata adapter bijgeleverd?

Aan die 20 pin’s connector zit een molex en een sata stekker aan.Dus als je een molex naar 2 x sata heb je 3 x sata .Als je op de website van hun kijkt staat op de vierde plaats die 20 pin;s connector met de aansluitingen.
Die zit er bij.

Has the HDMI issue been solved yet?
Also I’m planning to instal Hauppauge 1700 TV tuner PCIe card on this. Can the motherboard handle its operation e.g. watch channel, time shift, record tv show?
I dont think the HDMI issue can be solved…
Correct me if i’m wrong, but I think TV tuning is not supported by the graphics card and therefore will not run smooth.
So, to solve the problem, we will have to connect the TV to HDMI and the AV Receiver to the SPDIF out?
Yes, nvidia does not support TV tuning, but we can attach a PCIe TV tuner to the PCIe slot, can’t we?
Are you a Netflix user? If so, have you tried the watch it now at full screen? The netflix silverlight plugin doesn’t support hardware acceleration so it relies heavily on the cpu alone. My atom 330 can’t handle it, but would love to know if this can. Thanks mate and keep up the good work!

Yes that is what I’m going to do. But it could be that your receiver doesn’t have the HDMI handshake issue…
You can attach a PCIe TV tuner to the PCIe slot yes, but the question is, will it be able to handle the decoding of your tv signal etc. I have read somewhere that it can’t…
If the TV tuner has its own MPEG2 decoder (or whatever they call it), they say that it will significantly reduce the CPU load. But I don’t know how less it is.
